[Machine] About his elders, they said, "Hisham ibn Al-Aas ibn Wail ibn Hashim ibn Saeed ibn Sahm, and his mother's name was Harmalah bint Hisham ibn Al-Mughira. Hisham embraced Islam early in Mecca before his brother Amr. He migrated to the land of Habasha and then returned to Mecca when he was informed that the Prophet ﷺ had migrated to Al-Madinah. He wanted to join him, but his father and his people detained him in Mecca until he arrived in Al-Madinah after the Battle of Trench. He witnessed all the events that occurred afterward, yet he was younger than his brother Amr ibn Al-Aas."  

عَنْ شُيُوخِهِ قَالُوا «هِشَامُ بْنُ الْعَاصِ بْنِ وَائِلِ بْنِ هَاشِمِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَهْمٍ وَاسْمُ أُمِّهِ حَرْمَلَةُ بِنْتُ هِشَامِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ وَكَانَ هِشَامُ قَدِيمَ الْإِسْلَامِ بِمَكَّةَ قَبْلَ أَخِيهِ عَمْرِو وَهَاجَرَ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ ثُمَّ قَدِمَ مَكَّةَ حِينَ بَلَغَهُ مُهَاجِرُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَأَرَادَ الِّلَحَاقَ بِهِ فَحَبَسَهُ أَبُوهُ وَقَوْمُهُ بِمَكَّةَ حَتَّى قَدِمَ بَعْدَ الْخَنْدَقِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ فَشَهِدَ مَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الْمَشَاهِدِ كُلِّهَا وَكَانَ أَصْغَرَ سِنًّا مِنْ أَخِيهِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ»
