[Machine] In English, it translates to: "In the pre-Islamic era, titles were used. The Prophet ﷺ called a man by his title from among them, and it was said to him, 'O Messenger of Allah, he dislikes it.' So, Allah, the Almighty, revealed: 'And do not insult one another by offensive nicknames.' (Quran 49:11)"  

الحاكم:٣٧٢٤حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ ثنا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَنْبَأَ دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي جَبِيرَةَ بْنِ الضَّحَّاكِ فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا بِالْأَلْقَابِ} [الحجرات 11] قَالَ

كَانَتِ الْأَلْقَابُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَدَعَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ بِلَقَبِهِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ يَكْرَهُهُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ ﷻ {وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا بِالْأَلْقَابِ} [الحجرات 11]
