[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ ordered the Zakat al-Fitr to be given in the form of a saa' of dates. A man came with inferior quality dates, so the Prophet ﷺ said to Abdullah ibn Rawaha, "Do not give these dates as zakat." Then the Quran was revealed: "O you who have believed, spend from the good things which you have earned and from that which We have produced for you from the earth. And do not aim toward the defective therefrom, spending [from that] while you would not take it [yourself] except with closed eyes" (Al-Baqarah 267).
