سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ عَلَى رُءُوسِ الْحَرُورِيَّةِ عَلَى بَابِ حِمْصَ أَوْ بَابِ دِمَشْقَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «كِلَابُ النَّارِ كِلَابُ النَّارِ شَرُّ قَتْلَى تَحْتَ ظِلِّ السَّمَاءِ خَيْرُ قَتْلَى مَنْ قَتَلُوهُ» ثُمَّ سَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ
