20. Book of Marriage
٢٠۔ كِتَابُ النِّكَاحِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "When the guardians marry, they are for the first husband, and when the sellers sell, it is for the first buyer." Qatadah also followed up on his narration from Al-Hasan, Ashaath ibn Abd Al-Malik Al-Humrani.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا نَكَحَ الْوَلِيَّانِ فَهُوَ لِلْأَوَّلِ وَإِذَا بَاعَ الْمُجِيزَانِ فَهُوَ لِلْأَوَّلِ» وَقَدْ تَابَعَ قَتَادَةُ عَلَى رِوَايَتِهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ أَشْعَثَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الْحُمْرَانِيَّ
[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "When two authorized persons get married, the first one has more right." These clear methods that I mentioned for this entire text are correct according to the conditions of Al-Bukhari, and they did not exclude it according to the conditions of Al-Bukhari.
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا نَكَحَ الْمُجِيزَانِ فَالْأَوَّلُ أَحَقُّ» هَذِهِ الطُّرُقُ الْوَاضِحَةُ الَّتِي ذَكَرْتُهَا لِهَذَا الْمَتْنِ كُلُّهَا صَحِيحَةٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الْبُخَارِيِّ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري
"The dowry, when the Messenger of Allah was among us, was ten Awaq." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3348)
«كَانَ صَدَاقُنَا إِذَا كَانَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَشْرُ أَوَاقٍ»
[Machine] Beware of undervaluing the friendship of women. Even if they are honored in this world or righteous in the eyes of Allah, Muhammad ﷺ would be most worthy and deserving of that honor. He said: "No woman can be more truthful in fulfilling her obligations than twelve women combined." And indeed, one of you may become resentful towards his wife due to excessive dowry and say, "I have been burdened with the closeness of relationship."
أَلَا لَا تُغَالُوا صَدَاقَ النِّسَاءِ فَإِنَّهَا لَوْ كَانَتْ مَكْرُمَةً فِي الدُّنْيَا أَوْ تَقْوَى عِنْدَ اللَّهِ كَانَ أَوْلَاكُمْ بِهَا وَأَحَقَّكُمْ بِهَا مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ «مَا أَصْدَقَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ نِسَائِهِ أَكْثَرَ مِنِ اثْنَتَيْ عَشَرَةَ أُوقِيَّةً» وَإِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَيُغْلِي بِصَدَاقِ امْرَأَتِهِ حَتَّى يَكُونَ لَهَا عَدَاوَةٌ فِي نَفْسِهِ وَيَقُولُ قَدْ كُلِّفْتُ إِلَيْكِ عَرَقُ الْقِرْبَةِ
