44.8 Fastening and imprisoning in the Haram

٤٤۔٨ باب الرَّبْطِ وَالْحَبْسِ فِي الْحَرَمِ

[Machine] Nafi' ibn Abdul Harith bought a prison in Makkah from Safwan ibn Umayyah, on the condition that if Umar agreed, the sale would be valid; otherwise, Safwan would receive four hundred (pieces of currency). Ibn Zubayr was imprisoned in Makkah.

وَاشْتَرَى نَافِعُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَارِثِ دَارًا لِلسِّجْنِ بِمَكَّةَ مِنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ، عَلَى أَنَّ عُمَرَ إِنْ رَضِيَ فَالْبَيْعُ بَيْعُهُ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَرْضَ عُمَرُ فَلِصَفْوَانَ أَرْبَعُمِائَةٍ. وَسَجَنَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ بِمَكَّةَ.

The Prophet ﷺ sent some horsemen to Najd and they arrested and brought a man called Thumama bin Uthal from the tribe of Bani Hanifa, and they fastened him to one of the pillars of the Mosque.

بَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَيْلاً قِبَلَ نَجْدٍ فَجَاءَتْ بِرَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي حَنِيفَةَ يُقَالُ لَهُ ثُمَامَةُ بْنُ أُثَالٍ فَرَبَطُوهُ بِسَارِيَةٍ مِنْ سَوَارِي الْمَسْجِدِ
