Duas for a newborn child

بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ فِي الْمَوْهُوبِ لَكَ، وَشَكَرْتَ الْوَاهِبَ، وَبَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ، وَرُزِقْتَ بِرَّهُ.

May Allah bless for you what has been granted to you, may you show gratitude to the Bestower, may the child reach maturity, and may you be granted his dutifulness.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْبِتْهُ نَبَاتًا حَسَنًا، وَاجْعَلْهُ قُرَّةَ عَيْنٍ لِوَالِدَيْهِ، وَاحْفَظْهُ وَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ، وَاجْعَلْهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الصَّلَاحِ وَالتَّقْوَى.

O Allah, cause him to grow in a good manner, make him the comfort of his parents’ eyes, protect him, bless him for us, and make him among the righteous and God-fearing.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ الْمُصْلِحِينَ الْبَارِّينَ بِوَالِدَيْهِمْ.

O Allah, make him among the righteous, the reformers, and the dutiful to their parents.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ أَوْفَرَ حَظًّا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ.

O Allah, grant him the best share in this world and the Hereafter.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِكَ وَخَاصَّتِكَ الَّذِينَ يَسْعَى نُورُهُمْ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ، وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ.

O Allah, make him among Your close allies whose light ˹of Iman˺ shines ahead of them, and upon whom shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مِنْ حُرَّاسِ الدُّنْيَا وَمِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ وَالْمَذْكُورِينَ، وَالْطُفْ بِهِ يَا كَرِيمُ.

O Allah, make him among the guardians of this world, among those who remember You and are remembered, and show him Your grace, O Generous One.

اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْهُ جَمَالَ الْخَلْقِ وَالْخُلُقِ، وَقُوَّةَ الدِّينِ وَالْبَدَنِ، وَسَعَادَةَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ.

O Allah, grant him beauty in appearance and character, strength in faith and body, and happiness in this world and the Hereafter.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مِنَ الْهُدَاةِ الْمُهْتَدِينَ غَيْرَ الضَّالِّينَ وَلَا الْمُضِلِّينَ.

O Allah, make him among the rightly guided guides, not of those who are astray or lead others astray.

اللَّهُمَّ حَبِّبْ إِلَيْهِ الْإِيمَانَ وَزَيِّنْهُ فِي قَلْبِهِ، وَكَرِّهْ إِلَيْهِ الْكُفْرَ وَالْفُسُوقَ وَالْعِصْيَانَ، وَاجْعَلْهُ مِنَ الرَّاشِدِينَ.

O Allah, make faith beloved to him and beautify it in his heart, make disbelief, corruption, and sin hateful to him, and make him among the rightly guided.

اللَّهُمَّ طَهِّرْ قَلْبَهُ، اللَّهُمَّ حَصِّنْ فَرْجَهُ، اللَّهُمَّ حَسِّنْ أَخْلَاقَهُ، وَامْلَأْ قَلْبَهُ نُورًا وَحِكْمَةً.

O Allah, purify his heart, protect his chastity, beautify his manners, and fill his heart with light and wisdom.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مِنْ حَفَظَةِ كِتَابِكَ، وَالدُّعَاةِ لِدِينِكَ، وَالْمُجَاهِدِينَ فِي سَبِيلِكَ، وَالْمُبَلِّغِينَ عَنْ رَسُولِكَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

O Allah, make him among the memorizers of Your Book, the callers to Your religion, the fighters in Your cause, and the conveyors on behalf of Your Messenger ﷺ.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلِ الْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ رَبِيعَ قَلْبِهِ، وَشِفَاءَ صَدْرِهِ، وَنُورَ بَصَرِهِ.

O Allah, make the Great Quran the spring of his heart, the healing of his chest, and the light of his sight.

اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ عَلَيْهِ فُتُوحَ الْعَارِفِينَ، وَارْزُقْهُ الْحِكْمَةَ وَالْعِلْمَ النَّافِعَ.

O Allah, open for him the openings of the those who know You, and grant him wisdom and beneficial knowledge.

اللَّهُمَّ زَيِّنْ أَخْلَاقَهُ بِالْحِلْمِ، وَأَكْرِمْهُ بِالتَّقْوَى، وَجَمِّلْهُ بِالْعَافِيَةِ، وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ.

O Allah, adorn his manners with forbearance, honor him with piety, beautify him while removing all harm from him, and pardon him.

اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْهُ الْقَنَاعَةَ وَالرِّضَى، وَنَزِّهْ قَلْبَهُ عَنِ التَّعَلُّقِ بِمَنْ دُونَكَ، وَاجْعَلْهُ مِمَّنْ تُحِبُّهُمْ وَيُحِبُّونَكَ.

O Allah, grant him contentment and satisfaction, free his heart from attachment to others besides You, and make him among those whom You love and who love You.

اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْهُ حُبَّكَ، وَحُبَّ كُلِّ مَنْ يُحِبُّكَ، وَحُبَّ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ يُقَرِّبُهُمْ إِلَى حُبِّكَ.

O Allah, grant him Your love, the love of all who love You, and the love of every deed that brings them closer to Your love.

اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ عَلَيْهِ أَبْوَابَ رِزْقِكَ الْحَلَالِ مِنْ وَاسِعِ فَضْلِكَ، وَاكْفِهِ بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِهِ بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ، وَلَا تُوَلِّهِ وَلِيًّا سِوَاكَ.

O Allah, open for him the doors of Your lawful provision from Your vast bounty, suffice him with Your lawful against the unlawful, enrich him with Your favor from needing anyone besides You, and appoint for him no guardian other than You.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مَوْلُودَ خَيْرٍ وَبَرَكَةٍ، وَاجْعَلْهُ بَارًّا، وَارْزُقْهُ عَافِيَةً مِنْ عِنْدِكَ يَا اللهُ.

O Allah, make him a child of goodness and blessing, make him dutiful, and grant him well-being from You, O Allah.

اللَّهُمَّ اكْتُبْ لَهُ طُولَ الْعُمْرِ، وَحُسْنَ الْعَمَلِ، وَسَعَةَ الرِّزْقِ، وَسَعَادَةَ الدَّارَيْنِ.

O Allah, decree for him a long life, righteous deeds, ample provision, and happiness in both abodes.

اللَّهُمَّ أَهِّلْهُ لِقُبُولِ كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ، وَأَصْلِحْهُ وَأَصْلِحْ بِهِ الْأُمَّةَ.

O Allah, prepare him to receive every blessing, rectify him, and rectify the nation through him.

وَجَعَلَهُ اللهُ مِنْ مَوَالِيدِ السَّعَادَةِ، وَوَفَّقَهُ لِلْبِرِّ وَالْعِبَادَةِ.

And may Allah make him among the children of happiness, and grant him success in dutifulness and worship.

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى تَرْبِيَتِهِ، وَتَأْدِيبِهِ، وَبِرِّهِ.

O Allah, help me to raise him, discipline him, and be dutiful towards him.

وَجَعَلَهُ اللهُ مُبَارَكًا عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

And may Allah make him a blessing for you and for the nation of Muhammad ﷺ.

اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْهُ بِعَيْنِكَ الَّتِي لَا تَنَامُ، وَاكْنُفْهُ بِعِزِّكَ الَّذِي لَا يُرَامُ، وَاحْرُسْهُ مِنْ عُيُونِ الْإِنْسِ وَالْجِنِّ بِبَرَكَةِ بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ.

O Allah, protect him with Your Eye that never sleeps, shelter him with Your might that none can overcome, and guard him from the eyes of humans and jinn through the blessing of “In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.”

بِسْمِ اللهِ أَرْقِيهِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يُؤْذِيهِ، مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ وَعَيْنٍ حَاسِدٍ، بِسْمِ اللهِ أَرْقِيهِ وَاللهُ يَشْفِيهِ.

In the name of Allah, I perform ruqyah for him from everything that harms him, from the evil of every soul and the envious eye. In the name of Allah, I perform ruqyah for him, and Allah is the One Who heals him.

أُعِيذُكَ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ.

I seek protection for you with the perfect words of Allah from every devil and harmful creature, and from every envious eye.

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا.

Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the righteous.
