Dua for the Newborn of Another

• بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ فِي الْمَوْهُوبِ لَكَ، وَشَكَرْتَ/شَكَرْتِ الْوَاهِبَ، وَبَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ/وَبَلَغَتْ أَشُدَّهَا، وَرُزِقْتَ/رُزِقْتِ بِرَّهُ/بِرَّهَا.

bāraka Allāhu laka fī al-mawhūbi laka, wa-shakarta/shakarti al-wāhiba, wa-balagha ashuddahu/wa-balaghat ashuddahā, wa-ruziqta/ruziqti birrahu/birrahā.
May Allah bless for you what has been granted to you, may you show gratitude to the Bestower, may he/she reach maturity, and may you be granted his/her dutifulness.

Duas for Your Newborn (Male/Female)

• أُعِيذُكَ/أُعِيذُكِ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ.

uʿīdhuka/uʿīdhuki bi-kalimāti Allāhi al-tāmmati min kulli shayṭānin wa-hāmmah, wa-min kulli ʿaynin lāmmah.
I seek protection for you with the perfect words of Allah from every devil and harmful creature, and from every envious eye.

• بِسْمِ اللهِ أَرْقِيهِ/أَرْقِيهَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يُؤْذِيهِ/يُؤْذِيهَا، مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ وَعَيْنٍ حَاسِدٍ، بِسْمِ اللهِ أَرْقِيهِ/أَرْقِيهَا وَاللهُ يَشْفِيهِ/يَشْفِيهَا.

bi-smi Allāhi arqīhi/arqīhā min kulli shayʾin yuʾdhīhi/yuʾdhīhā, min sharri kulli nafsin wa-ʿaynin ḥāsidin, bi-smi Allāhi arqīhi/arqīhā wa-Allāhu yashfīhi/yashfīhā.
In the name of Allah, I perform ruqyah for him/her from everything that harms him/her, from the evil of every soul and the envious eye. In the name of Allah, I perform ruqyah for him/her, and Allah is the One Who heals him/her.

• اللَّهُمَّ أَنْبِتْهُ/أَنْبِتْهَا نَبَاتًا حَسَنًا، وَاجْعَلْهُ/اجْعَلْهَا قُرَّةَ عَيْنٍ لِوَالِدَيْهِ/لِوَالِدَيْهَا، وَاحْفَظْهُ/احْفَظْهَا، وَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ/فِيهَا، وَاجْعَلْهُ/اجْعَلْهَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الصَّلَاحِ وَالتَّقْوَى.

allāhumma anbithu/anbithā nabātan ḥasanan, wajʿalhu/wajʿalhā qurrata ʿaynin li-wālidayhi/li-wālidayhā, wa-iḥfaẓhu/iḥfaẓhā, wa-bārik lanā fīhi/fīhā, wajʿalhu/wajʿalhā min ahli al-ṣalāḥi wa-al-taqwā.
O Allah, cause him/her to grow in a good manner, make him/her the comfort of his/her parents’ eyes, protect him/her, bless him/her for us, and make him/her among the righteous and God-fearing.

• اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ/اجْعَلْهَا مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ/الصَّالِحَاتِ الْمُصْلِحِينَ/الْمُصْلِحَاتِ الْبَارِّينَ/الْبَارَّاتِ بِوَالِدَيْهِمْ/بِوَالِدَيْهِنَّ.

allāhumma ijʿalhu/ijʿalhā mina al-ṣāliḥīna/al-ṣāliḥāti al-muṣliḥīna/al-muṣliḥāti al-bārrīna/al-bārrāti bi-wālidayhim/bi-wālidayhinna.
O Allah, make him/her among the righteous, the reformers, and those dutiful to their parents.

• اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ/اجْعَلْهَا أَوْفَرَ حَظًّا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ.

allāhumma ijʿalhu/ijʿalhā awfara ḥaẓẓan fī al-dunyā wa-fī al-ākhirah.
O Allah, grant him/her the best share in this world and the Hereafter.

• اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ/اجْعَلْهَا مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِكَ وَخَاصَّتِكَ الَّذِينَ/اللَّاتِي يَسْعَى/تَسْعَى نُورُهُمْ/نُورُهُنَّ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ/أَيْدِيهِنَّ، وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ/عَلَيْهِنَّ وَلَا هُمْ/هُنَّ يَحْزَنُونَ.

allāhumma ijʿalhu/ijʿalhā min awliyāʾika wa-khāṣṣatika alladhīna/allātī yasʿā/tasʿā nūruhum/nūruhunna bayna aydīhim/aydīhinna, wa-lā khawfun ʿalayhim/ʿalayhinna wa-lā hum/hunna yaḥzanūna.
O Allah, make him/her among Your close allies whose light shines ahead of them, and upon whom shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

• اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ/اجْعَلْهَا مِنْ حُرَّاسِ الدُّنْيَا، وَمِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ/الذَّاكِرَاتِ وَالْمَذْكُورِينَ/الْمَذْكُورَاتِ، وَالْطُفْ بِهِ/بِهَا يَا كَرِيمُ.

allāhumma ijʿalhu/ijʿalhā min ḥurrāsi al-dunyā, wa-mina al-dhākirīna/al-dhākirāti wa-al-madhkūrīna/al-madhkūrāti, wa-alṭuf bihi/bihā yā Karīmu.
O Allah, make him/her among the guardians of this world, among those who remember You and are remembered, and show him/her Your grace, O Generous One.

• اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْهُ/ارْزُقْهَا جَمَالَ الْخَلْقِ وَالْخُلُقِ، وَقُوَّةَ الدِّينِ وَالْبَدَنِ، وَسَعَادَةَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ.

allāhumma urzuqhu/urzuqhā jamāla al-khalqi wa-al-khuluqi, wa-quwwata al-dīni wa-al-badani, wa-saʿādata al-dunyā wa-al-ākhirah.
O Allah, grant him/her beauty in appearance and character, strength in faith and body, and happiness in this world and the Hereafter.

• اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ/اجْعَلْهَا مِنَ الْهُدَاةِ الْمُهْتَدِينَ/الْهَادِيَاتِ الْمُهْتَدِيَاتِ، غَيْرَ الضَّالِّينَ وَلَا الْمُضِلِّينَ/غَيْرَ الضَّالَّاتِ وَلَا الْمُضِلَّاتِ.

allāhumma ijʿalhu/ijʿalhā mina al-hudāti al-muhtadīna/al-hādiyāti al-muhtadiyāti, ghayra al-ḍāllīna wa-lā al-muḍillīna/ghayra al-ḍāllāti wa-lā al-muḍillāti.
O Allah, make him/her among the rightly guided guides, not among those who are astray or lead others astray.

• اللَّهُمَّ حَبِّبْ إِلَيْهِ/إِلَيْهَا الْإِيمَانَ، وَزَيِّنْهُ فِي قَلْبِهِ/قَلْبِهَا، وَكَرِّهْ إِلَيْهِ/إِلَيْهَا الْكُفْرَ وَالْفُسُوقَ وَالْعِصْيَانَ، وَاجْعَلْهُ/اجْعَلْهَا مِنَ الرَّاشِدِينَ/الرَّاشِدَاتِ.

allāhumma ḥabbib ilayhi/ilayhā al-īmāna, wa-zayyinhu fī qalbihi/qalbihā, wa-karrih ilayhi/ilayhā al-kufra wa-al-fusūqa wa-al-ʿiṣyāna, wajʿalhu/wajʿalhā mina al-rāshidīna/al-rāshidāti.
O Allah, make faith beloved to him/her and beautify it in his/her heart, make disbelief, corruption, and sin hateful to him/her, and make him/her among the rightly guided.

• اللَّهُمَّ طَهِّرْ قَلْبَهُ/قَلْبَهَا، اللَّهُمَّ حَصِّنْ فَرْجَهُ/فَرْجَهَا، اللَّهُمَّ حَسِّنْ أَخْلَاقَهُ/أَخْلَاقَهَا، وَامْلَأْ قَلْبَهُ/قَلْبَهَا نُورًا وَحِكْمَةً.

allāhumma ṭahhir qalbahu/qalbahā, Allāhumma ḥaṣṣin farjahu/farjahā, Allāhumma ḥassin akhlāqahu/akhlāqahā, wa-imlaʾ qalbahu/qalbahā nūran wa-ḥikmatan.
O Allah, purify his/her heart, protect his/her chastity, beautify his/her manners, and fill his/her heart with light and wisdom.

• اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ/اجْعَلْهَا مِنْ حَفَظَةِ كِتَابِكَ، وَالدُّعَاةِ لِدِينِكَ، وَالْمُجَاهِدِينَ/الْمُجَاهِدَاتِ فِي سَبِيلِكَ، وَالْمُبَلِّغِينَ/الْمُبَلِّغَاتِ عَنْ رَسُولِكَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

allāhumma ijʿalhu/ijʿalhā min ḥafaẓati kitābika, wa-al-duʿāti li-dīnika, wa-al-mujāhidīna/al-mujāhidāti fī sabīlika, wa-al-muballighīna/al-muballighāti ʿan Rasūlika ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam.
O Allah, make him/her among the memorizers of Your Book, the callers to Your religion, the strivers in Your cause, and the conveyors on behalf of Your Messenger ﷺ.

• اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلِ الْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ رَبِيعَ قَلْبِهِ/قَلْبِهَا، وَشِفَاءَ صَدْرِهِ/صَدْرِهَا، وَنُورَ بَصَرِهِ/بَصَرِهَا.

allāhumma ijʿal al-Qurʾāna al-ʿaẓīma rabīʿa qalbihi/qalbihā, wa-shifāʾa ṣadrihi/ṣadrihā, wa-nūra baṣarihi/baṣarihā.
O Allah, make the Great Quran the spring of his/her heart, the healing of his/her chest, and the light of his/her sight.

• اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ عَلَيْهِ/عَلَيْهَا فُتُوحَ الْعَارِفِينَ/الْعَارِفَاتِ، وَارْزُقْهُ/ارْزُقْهَا الْحِكْمَةَ وَالْعِلْمَ النَّافِعَ.

allāhumma iftaḥ ʿalayhi/ʿalayhā futūḥa al-ʿārifīna/al-ʿārifāti, wa-urzuqhu/urzuqhā al-ḥikmata wa-al-ʿilma al-nāfiʿa.
O Allah, open for him/her the openings of those who know You, and grant him/her wisdom and beneficial knowledge.

• اللَّهُمَّ زَيِّنْ أَخْلَاقَهُ/أَخْلَاقَهَا بِالْحِلْمِ، وَأَكْرِمْهُ/أَكْرِمْهَا بِالتَّقْوَى، وَجَمِّلْهُ/جَمِّلْهَا بِالْعَافِيَةِ، وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ/عَنْهَا.

allāhumma zayyin akhlāqahu/akhlāqahā bi-al-ḥilmi, wa-akrimhu/akrimhā bi-al-taqwā, wa-jammilhu/jammilhā bi-al-ʿāfiyah, wa-iʿfu ʿanhu/ʿanhā.
O Allah, adorn his/her manners with forbearance, honor him/her with piety, beautify him/her with well-being, and pardon him/her.

• اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْهُ/ارْزُقْهَا الْقَنَاعَةَ وَالرِّضَى، وَنَزِّهْ قَلْبَهُ/قَلْبَهَا عَنِ التَّعَلُّقِ بِمَنْ دُونَكَ، وَاجْعَلْهُ/اجْعَلْهَا مِمَّنْ تُحِبُّهُمْ/تُحِبُّهُنَّ وَيُحِبُّونَكَ/يُحْبِبْنَكَ.

allāhumma urzuqhu/urzuqhā al-qanāʿata wa-al-riḍā, wa-nazzih qalbahu/qalbahā ʿan al-taʿalluqi bi-man dūnaka, wajʿalhu/wajʿalhā mimman tuḥibbuhum/tuḥibbuhunna wa-yuḥibbūnaka/yuḥbibnaka.
O Allah, grant him/her contentment and satisfaction, free his/her heart from attachment to others besides You, and make him/her among those whom You love and who love You.

• اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْهُ/ارْزُقْهَا حُبَّكَ، وَحُبَّ كُلِّ مَنْ يُحِبُّكَ، وَحُبَّ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ يُقَرِّبُهُ/يُقَرِّبُهَا إِلَى حُبِّكَ.

allāhumma urzuqhu/urzuqhā ḥubbaka, wa-ḥubba kulli man yuḥibbuka, wa-ḥubba kulli ʿamalin yuqarribuhu/yuqarribuhā ilā ḥubbika.
O Allah, grant him/her Your love, the love of all who love You, and the love of every deed that brings him/her closer to Your love.

• اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ عَلَيْهِ/عَلَيْهَا أَبْوَابَ رِزْقِكَ الْحَلَالِ مِنْ وَاسِعِ فَضْلِكَ، وَاكْفِهِ/اكْفِهَا بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِهِ/أَغْنِهَا بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ، وَلَا تُوَلِّهِ/تُوَلِّهَا وَلِيًّا سِوَاكَ.

allāhumma iftaḥ ʿalayhi/ʿalayhā abwāba rizqika al-ḥalāli min wāsiʿi faḍlika, wa-ikfihi/ikfihā bi-ḥalālika ʿan ḥarāmika, wa-aghnihi/aghnihā bi-faḍlika ʿamman siwāka, wa-lā tuwallihi/tuwallihā waliyyan siwāka.
O Allah, open for him/her the doors of Your lawful provision from Your vast bounty, suffice him/her with Your lawful against the unlawful, enrich him/her with Your favor from needing anyone besides You, and appoint for him/her no guardian other than You.

• اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ/اجْعَلْهَا مَوْلُودَ/مَوْلُودَةَ خَيْرٍ وَبَرَكَةٍ، وَاجْعَلْهُ بَارًّا/اجْعَلْهَا بَارَّةً، وَارْزُقْهُ/ارْزُقْهَا عَافِيَةً مِنْ عِنْدِكَ يَا اللهُ.

allāhumma ijʿalhu/ijʿalhā mawlūda/mawlūdata khayrin wa-barakah, wajʿalhu bārran/wajʿalhā bārrah, wa-urzuqhu/urzuqhā ʿāfiyatan min ʿindika yā Allāhu.
O Allah, make him/her a child of goodness and blessing, make him/her dutiful, and grant him/her well-being from You, O Allah.

• اللَّهُمَّ اكْتُبْ لَهُ/لَهَا طُولَ الْعُمْرِ، وَحُسْنَ الْعَمَلِ، وَسَعَةَ الرِّزْقِ، وَسَعَادَةَ الدَّارَيْنِ.

allāhumma uktub lahu/lahā ṭūla al-ʿumri, wa-ḥusna al-ʿamali, wa-saʿata al-rizqi, wa-saʿādata al-dārayni.
O Allah, decree for him/her a long life, righteous deeds, ample provision, and happiness in both abodes.

• اللَّهُمَّ أَهِّلْهُ/أَهِّلْهَا لِقُبُولِ كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ، وَأَصْلِحْهُ/أَصْلِحْهَا، وَأَصْلِحْ بِهِ/بِهَا الْأُمَّةَ.

allāhumma ahhilhu/ahhilhā li-qubūli kulli niʿmah, wa-aṣliḥhu/aṣliḥhā, wa-aṣliḥ bihi/bihā al-ummah.
O Allah, prepare him/her to receive every blessing, rectify him/her, and rectify the nation through him/her.

• وَجَعَلَهُ اللهُ/وَجَعَلَهَا اللهُ مِنْ مَوَالِيدِ السَّعَادَةِ، وَوَفَّقَهُ/وَوَفَّقَهَا لِلْبِرِّ وَالْعِبَادَةِ.

wa-jaʿalahu Allāhu/wa-jaʿalahā Allāhu min mawālīdi al-saʿādah, wa-waffaqahu/wa-waffaqahā li-al-birri wa-al-ʿibādah.
And may Allah make him/her among the children of happiness, and grant him/her success in dutifulness and worship.

• اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى تَرْبِيَتِهِ/تَرْبِيَتِهَا، وَتَأْدِيبِهِ/تَأْدِيبِهَا، وَبِرِّهِ/بِرِّهَا.

allāhumma aʿinnī ʿalā tarbiyatihi/tarbiyatihā, wa-taʾdībihi/taʾdībihā, wa-birrihi/birrihā.
O Allah, help me to raise him/her, discipline him/her, and be dutiful towards him/her.

• وَجَعَلَهُ اللهُ/وَجَعَلَهَا اللهُ مُبَارَكًا/مُبَارَكَةً عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

wa-jaʿalahu Allāhu/wa-jaʿalahā Allāhu mubārakan/mubārakatan ʿalayka wa-ʿalā ummati Muḥammadin ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam.
And may Allah make him/her a blessing for you and for the nation of Muhammad ﷺ.

• اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْهُ/احْفَظْهَا بِعَيْنِكَ الَّتِي لَا تَنَامُ، وَاكْنُفْهُ/اكْنُفْهَا بِعِزِّكَ الَّذِي لَا يُرَامُ، وَاحْرُسْهُ/احْرُسْهَا مِنْ عُيُونِ الْإِنْسِ وَالْجِنِّ بِبَرَكَةِ بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ.

allāhumma iḥfaẓhu/iḥfaẓhā bi-ʿaynika allatī lā tanāmu, wa-uknufhu/uknufhā bi-ʿizzika alladhī lā yurāmu, wa-uḥrus-hu/uḥrus-hā min ʿuyūni al-insi wa-al-jinni bi-barakati bi-smi Allāhi al-Raḥmāni al-Raḥīmi.
O Allah, protect him/her with Your Eye that never sleeps, shelter him/her with Your might that none can overcome, and guard him/her from the eyes of humans and jinn through the blessing of "In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate."

• رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا.

Rabbanā hab lanā min azwājinā wa-dhurriyyātinā qurrata aʿyunin wa-ijʿalnā li-al-muttaqīna imāman.
Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the righteous.
