[Machine] Umar ibn Al-Khattab, I knew the place where it was revealed, and the day and hour when it was revealed, on the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ while we were in Arafat on the evening of Friday.  

البيهقي:٩٤٧٩ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بِشْرَانَ أنبأ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّزَّازُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ قَالَ يَهُودِيٌّ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ أَمَا لَوْ عَلَيْنَا مَعْشَرَ الْيَهُودِ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الْإِسْلَامَ دِينًا} [المائدة 3] نَعْلَمُ الْيَوْمَ الَّذِي نَزَلَتْ فِيهِ لَاتَّخَذْنَا ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ عِيدًا فَقَالَ

عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ الْمَوْضِعَ الَّذِي نَزَلَتْ فِيهِ وَالْيَوْمَ وَالسَّاعَةَ نَزَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ بِعَرَفَةَ عَشِيَّةَ جُمُعَةٍ
