[Machine] And his grandfather brought him to the Prophet ﷺ , so the Prophet ﷺ wiped his head and said, "Do not apply kohl during the day while you are fasting. Apply kohl at night, as antimony clears the vision and promotes hair growth." Sheikh Abdul Rahman, son of Nu'man ibn Ma'bad ibn Hawdha, father of Nu'man, and Ma'bad ibn Hawdha Al-Ansari- he is the one to whom this companionship belongs.  

البيهقي:٨٢٦٠أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي قَالَ

وَكَانَ جَدُّهُ أَتَى بِهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَمَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ فَقَالَ لَا تَكْتَحِلْ بِالنَّهَارِ وَأَنْتَ صَائِمٌ اكْتَحِلْ لَيْلًا الْإِثْمِدُ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ وَيُنْبِتُ الشَّعْرَ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ هُوَ ابْنُ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ هَوْذَةَ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ وَمَعْبَدُ بْنُ هَوْذَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ هُوَ الَّذِي لَهُ هَذِهِ الصُّحْبَةُ
