[Machine] He used to pay Zakat al-Fitr on behalf of every slave he owned, whether on his land or elsewhere, and on behalf of every dependent, whether young or old, and on behalf of his wife's slave. He had scribes in the city who were exempt from paying Zakat al-Fitr. Sufyan al-Thawri narrated that Musa ibn Uqbah narrated from Nafi' who said: Ibn Umar had two scribes and he did not pay Zakat al-Fitr on their behalf on the day of Eid.
أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُؤَدِّي زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ عَنْ كُلِّ مَمْلُوكٍ لَهُ فِي أَرْضِهِ وَغَيْرِ أَرْضِهِ وَعَنْ كُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ يَعُولُهُ مِنْ صَغِيرٍ أَوْ كَبِيرٍ وَعَنْ رَقِيقِ امْرَأَتِهِ وَكَانَ لَهُ مُكَاتَبٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَكَانَ لَا يُؤَدِّي عَنْهُ وَرَوَاهُ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ كَانَ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ مُكَاتَبَانِ فَلَا يُعْطِي عَنْهُمَا الزَّكَاةَ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ
