[Machine] When Abu Salamah died, Umm Salamah said, "I will be a stranger in a foreign land, so I will weep for him with a weeping that can be heard." She said, "When I prepared myself to weep for him, a woman came to see me and the Messenger of Allah greeted her and asked her, 'Do you want to let the devil enter a house that is already filled with grief?'"  

البيهقي:٧١٠٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ثنا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو صَالِحِ بْنُ أَبِي طَاهِرٍ أنبأ جَدِّي يَحْيَى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَهَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ قَالَتْ

أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ لَمَّا مَاتَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ؓ قُلْتُ غَرِيبٌ وَفِي أَرْضِ غُرْبَةٍ لَأَبْكِيَنَّ عَلَيْهِ بُكَاءً يُتَحَدَّثُ بِهِ قَالَتْ فَلَمَّا تَهَيَّأْتُ لِلْبُكَاءِ عَلَيْهِ إِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنِي فَاسْتَقْبَلَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَتُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تُدْخِلِي الشَّيْطَانَ بَيْتًا قَدْ  

أَخْرَجَهُ اللهُ مِنْهُ قَالَتْ فَكَفَفْتُ عَنِ الْبُكَاءِ عَلَيْهِ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ لَأَبْكِيَنَّ بُكَاءً يُتَحَدَّثُ عَنْهُ فَبَيْنَا أَنَا كَذَلِكَ قَدْ تَهَيَّأْتُ لِلْبُكَاءِ عَلَيْهِ إِذْ أَتَتِ امْرَأَةٌ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تُسْعِدَنِي مِنَ الصَّعِيدِ فَاسْتَقْبَلَهَا فَذَكَرَهُ قَالَتْ فَكَفَفْتُ عَنِ الْبُكَاءِ فَلَمْ أبْكِهِ

When Abu Salama died I said: I am a stranger in a strange land; I shall weep for him in a manner that would be talked of. I made preparation for weeping for him when a woman from the upper side of the city came there who intended to help me (in weeping). She happened to come across the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said: Do you intend to bring the devil into a house from which Allah has twice driven him out? I (Umm Salama), therefore, refrained from weeping and I did not weep.
