[Machine] To recite Takbeer (saying Allahu Akbar) then send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ , then strive in supplicating for the deceased, then offer salutations for oneself. And it is narrated from Abd al-Wahid ibn Ziyad from Ma'mar, but I believe it is a mistake, and the correct narration is from those who narrated it from al-Zuhri from Abu Umamah ibn Sahl ibn Hunayf.  

البيهقي:٦٩٩١أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ثنا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَهْلَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيَّ يَقُولُ لِسَعِيدٍ مِنْ سُنَّةِ الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ

أَنْ يُكَبِّرَ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّيَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ثُمَّ يَجْتَهِدَ لِلْمَيِّتِ فِي الدُّعَاءِ ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمَ فِي نَفْسِهِ وَكَذَلِكَ رُوِيَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ وَعِنْدِي أَنَّهُ غَلَطٌ وَالصَّوَابُ رِوَايَةُ مَنْ رَوَاهَا عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ
