[Machine] In it, he rode the sea and died, and they could not find an island for him except after seven days, so they buried him there and he did not decompose. It was narrated to us by Al-Hasan al-Basri that he said, "He is washed, shrouded, prayed upon, and then thrown into the sea." In another narration, he was placed in a sack and then thrown into the sea.  

البيهقي:٦٧٧٤أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ ثنا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنِي حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ

فِيهِ فَرَكِبَ الْبَحْرَ فَمَاتَ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُ جَزِيرَةً إِلَّا بَعْدَ سَبْعَةِ أَيَّامٍ فَدَفَنُوهُ فِيهَا وَلَمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ وَرُوِّينَا عَنِ الْحَسَنِ الْبَصْرِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يُغَسَّلُ وَيُكَفَّنُ وَيُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَيُطْرَحُ فِي الْبَحْرِ وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ أُخْرَى جُعِلَ فِي زِنْبِيلٍ ثُمَّ قُذِفَ بِهِ فِي الْبَحْرِ
