[Machine] The Messenger of Allah took me by the shoulder and said, "Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler." And Ibn Umar said to me, "When you wake up in the morning, do not wait for the evening, and when you reach the evening, do not wait for the morning. Take from your good deeds for your bad ones."  

البيهقي:٦٥١٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ وَأَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ وَكَانَ ثِقَةً عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَعْمَشِ حَدَّثَنِي مُجَاهِدٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِمَنْكِبِي؛ وَقَالَ كُنْ فِي الدُّنْيَا كَأَنَّكَ غَرِيبٌ أَوْ عَابِرُ سَبِيلٍ قَالَ وَقَالَ لِيَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِذَا أَصْبَحْتَ فَلَا تَنْتَظِرِ الْمَسَاءَ وَإِذَا أَمْسَيْتَ فَلَا تَنْتَظِرِ الصَّبَّاحَ وَخُذْ مِنْ حَسَنَاتِكَ لِمَسَاوِيكَ

ʿAbdullah bin ʿUmar said, "Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of my shoulder and said, 'Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler." The sub-narrator added: Ibn ʿUmar used to say, "If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your health for your sickness, and (take) from your life for your death."
