[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing silk except in an area equivalent to the width of two or three fingers or four fingers.  

البيهقي:٦٠٨٣ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ثنا أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ قَالَ خَطَبَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ بِالْجَابِيَةِ قَالَ

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ إِلَّا مَوْضِعَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةٍ أَوْ أَرْبَعَةٍ  

رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ الْقَوَارِيرِيِّ وَجَمَاعَةٍ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ وَكَذَلِكَ رَوَاهُ ابْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَرَوَاهُ أَيْضًا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ أَنَّ عُمَرَ ؓ كَانَ يَنْهَى عَنِ الْحَرِيرِ وَالدِّيبَاجِ إِلَّا مَا كَانَ هَكَذَا ثُمَّ أَشَارَ بِإِصْبَعِهِ ثُمَّ الثَّانِيَةِ ثُمَّ الثَّالِثَةِ ثُمَّ الرَّابِعَةِ قَالَ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْهَانَا عَنْهُ أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو النَّضْرِ الْفَقِيهُ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ فَذَكَرَهُ رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنِ ابْنِ نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَفْصٍ
