[Machine] Ten miles means the distance between Makkah and Sarif, and combining the prayers with the excuse of traveling is one of the well-known and commonly used practices among the companions and their followers, all agreed upon and confirmed by the Prophet ﷺ , then by his companions, and then by what the Muslims agreed upon in terms of combining the people at Arafah, then at Muzdalifah.  

البيهقي:٥٥٣٦وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ دَاسَةَ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ جَارُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ بَيْنَهُمَا

عَشَرَةُ أَمْيَالٍ يَعْنِي بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ وَسَرِفَ وَالْجَمْعُ بَيْنَ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ بِعُذْرِ السَّفَرِ مِنَ الْأُمُورِ الْمَشْهُورَةِ الْمُسْتَعْمَلَةِ فِيمَا بَيْنَ الصَّحَابَةِ وَالتَّابِعِينَ ؓ أَجْمَعِينَ مَعَ الثَّابِتِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ثُمَّ عَنْ أَصْحَابِهِ ثُمَّ مَا أَجْمَعَ عَلَيْهِ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ جَمْعِ النَّاسِ بِعَرَفَةَ ثُمَّ بِالْمُزْدَلِفَةِ
