[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to combine these two prayers when he was in a hurry during travel. He would continue traveling until sunset disappeared, then he would combine the prayers and continue traveling for the distance between Mecca and Medina three times. Ma'mar narrated from Ayyub and Musa ibn 'Uqbah from Nafi' that he delayed Maghrib after the disappearance of sunset until the darkness of the night disappeared, then he descended and performed Maghrib and Isha prayers. He said, "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to do that when he was in a hurry or his travel party was in a hurry." Yazid ibn Harun narrated from Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Ansari from Nafi' and mentioned that he traveled near the quarter of the night, then he descended and performed the prayers.
