[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ saw a man praying two voluntary units of prayer after the Fajr prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Fajr prayer consists of two units." The man replied, "I had not prayed the two units of prayer that come before them, so I prayed them now." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained silent. Abu Dawood narrated, on the authority of Hameed bin Yahya, who said that Sufyan reported that Ata bin Abi Rabah narrated this hadith from Sa'd bin Sa'id. Abu Dawood said that Abdullah bin Rabee narrated this hadith from his father and Yahya, the sons of Sa'id. This hadith is transmitted as Mursal (a type of Hadith where the Sahabi who narrated it is omitted). The Shaykh (meaning Abu Dawood) said that it has also been narrated from a different chain.
