[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ saw me praying two units of the Fajr prayer after the morning prayer and he said, "What are these two units of prayer, O Qays?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I did not pray my two units of the Fajr prayer, so these are the two units of prayer." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained silent. Al-Humaydi added in his narration that Sufyan said, "Ata' ibn Abi Rabah narrated this hadith from Sad 4392, and Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Abdan narrated it from Ahmad ibn Ubayd al-Saffar, who narrated it from Tamtam, who narrated it from Ibrahim ibn Bashshar al-Ramadi, who narrated it from Sufyan ibn Uyaynah, who narrated it from Sad ibn Said, the brother of Yahya ibn Said, who narrated it from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Taymi, who narrated it from Qays ibn Fahd, who said, 'The Prophet ﷺ saw me praying the two units of prayer after the morning prayer and mentioned their significance.' Sufyan said the same, as did Qays ibn Qahd, and so did Abdullah ibn Numayr in one of the two narrations from him. In another narration from him, Qays ibn Amr said..."

رَآنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا أُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ فَقَالَ مَا هَاتَانِ الرَّكْعَتَانِ يَا قَيْسُ؟ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ صَلَّيْتُ رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ فَهُمَا هَاتَانِ الرَّكْعَتَانِ فَسَكَتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ زَادَ الْحُمَيْدِيُّ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ وَكَانَ عَطَاءُ بْنُ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ يَرْوِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ سَعْدٍ 4392 وَأنبأ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا تَمْتَامٌ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ثنا سَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَخُو يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ فَهْدٍ قَالَ أَبْصَرَنِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأَنَا أُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ وَذَكَرَ قَوْلَ سُفْيَانَ كَذَا قَالَ قَيْسُ بْنُ قَهْدٍ وَكَذَلِكَ قَالَهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ سَعْدٍ فِي إِحْدَى الرِّوَايَتَيْنِ عَنْهُ وَقَالَ فِي رِوَايَةٍ أُخْرَى عَنْهُ قَيْسُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو
