[Machine] That Ali passed by Babylon while he was walking, and the muezzin called him to the Asr prayer. When he emerged, he ordered the muezzin to establish the prayer. When he finished, he said, "Indeed, my beloved ﷺ prohibited me from praying in the graveyard and prohibited me from praying on the land of Babylon, as it is cursed." And Abu Ali Al-Radbari informed us, who narrated from Abu Bakr, who narrated from Abu Dawood, who narrated from Ahmad bin Saleh, who narrated from Ibn Wahb, who reported to me from Yahya bin Azhar and Ibn Lahi'ah from Al-Hajjaj bin Shaddad from Abu Salih Al-Ghifari from Ali, in the sense of the hadith of Sulayman bin Dawood, who said: When he left that place, where he had emerged, we were told by Abdullah bin Abi Mahil Al-Amiri who said: We were with Ali bin Abi Talib, and he passed by the sinkhole in Babylon, but he did not pray until he had passed it. And from Hur bin Al-Hadrami from Ali, he said: I would not have prayed on a land that Allah had submerged three times, and this prohibition of prayer in it, if it is proven as a raised hadith, it has no connection to prayer. If he had prayed in it, he would not have been counted [as having prayed], and indeed, Allah knows best.
