[Machine] The first person to level the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was Umar ibn al-Khattab. He said, "Level it from the blessed valley," meaning al-Aqiq. This is what Urwah reported, and the narration of Ibn Umar is continuous and its chain of transmission is acceptable.  

البيهقي:٤٣١٤وَثنا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَافِعِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ بِمَكَّةَ أنبأ الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَنَدِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

أَوَّلُ مَنْ بَطَحَ الْمَسْجِدَ مَسْجِدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ وَقَالَ ابْطَحُوهُ مِنَ الْوَادِي الْمُبَارَكِ يَعْنِي الْعَقِيقَ كَذَا قَالَ عُرْوَةُ وَحَدِيثُ ابْنِ عُمَرَ مُتَّصِلٌ وَإِسْنَادُهُ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ
