[Machine] He said: It was gifted to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a garment made of silk, so he wore it and prayed in it, then he took it off violently, as if he detested it, and said: "This is not appropriate for the pious." This is reported in the narration of Qutaybah, and in the narration of Ibn Wahb it is reported that Uqbah bin Amir said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us one day wearing a garment made of silk, so he prayed in it, then he took it off and said: "This attire is not suitable for the pious."  

أَنَّهُ قَالَ أُهْدِيَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَرُّوجُ حَرِيرٍ فَلَبِسَهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى فِيهِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَنَزَعَهُ نَزْعًا شَدِيدًا كَالْكَارِهِ لَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَا يَنْبَغِي هَذَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ قُتَيْبَةَ وَفِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يَقُولُ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ وَعَلَيْهِ فَرُّوجُ حَرِيرٍ فَصَلَّى فِيهِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَنَزَعَهُ وَقَالَ لَا يَنْبَغِي لِبَاسُ هَذَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
