In the narration of Thawri from Hisham, the blood is like that of a fly. Al-Hasan Al-Basri used to say that a little or a lot of blood is the same, and the view of the rest of the jurists is different from him in the distinction between a large amount of blood and a small amount. Ata and Al-Hasan Al-Basri and Ash-Sha'bi and Tawus have permitted the blood of fleas.  

لِمَ انْصَرَفْتَ؟ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ دَمُ ذُبَابَةٍ رَأَيْتُ فِي ثَوْبِي قَالَ فَعَابَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيَّ وَقَالَ لِمَا انْصَرَفْتَ حَتَّى تُتِمَّ صَلَاتَكَ فِي رِوَايَةِ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ هِشَامٍ دَمٌ مِثْلُ الذُّبَابِ وَكَانَ الْحَسَنُ الْبَصْرِيُّ يَقُولُ قَلِيلُهُ وَكَثِيرُهُ سَوَاءٌ وَمَذْهَبُ سَائِرِ الْفُقَهَاءِ بِخِلَافِهِ فِي الْفَرْقِ بَيْنَ كَثِيرِ الدَّمِ وَيَسِيرِهِ وَرَخَّصَ فِي دَمِ الْبَرَاغِيثِ عَطَاءٌ وَالْحَسَنُ الْبَصْرِيُّ وَالشَّعْبِيُّ وَطَاوُسٌ
