[Machine] We used to greet the Prophet ﷺ during prayer and he would respond to us. But when we returned from Najashi, we greeted him and he did not respond to us. So we said, "O Messenger of Allah, we used to greet you during prayer and you would respond to us." He said, "During the prayer, I was preoccupied with the narration of Ibn Fudayl and in the narration of Abu Badr Shuja' bin Al-Walid." So we said, "O Messenger of Allah, today you were preoccupied and did not respond to us?" He said, "During the prayer, I was preoccupied."  

كُنَّا نُسَلِّمُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَيَرُدُّ عَلَيْنَا فَلَمَّا رَجَعْنَا مِنْ عِنْدِ النَّجَاشِيِّ سَلَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْنَا فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كُنَّا نُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْكَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَتُرَدُّ عَلَيْنَا قَالَ إِنَّ فِي الصَّلَاةِ شُغْلًا لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ وَفِي حَدِيثِ أَبِي بَدْرٍ شُجَاعِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كُنْتَ تُرَدُّ عَلَيْنَا مَا لَكَ الْيَوْمَ لَمْ تُرَدَّ عَلَيْنَا؟ فَقَالَ إِنَّ فِي الصَّلَاةِ شُغُلًا
