[Machine] Narrated Abu Jumah Habib bin Sibaa', who was one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , that on the day of Al-Ahzab (the Confederates), the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , prayed Maghrib (evening prayer) and forgot to pray Asr (afternoon prayer). So the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said to his companions, "Did you see me pray Asr?" They replied, "No, O Messenger of Allah." So the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , commanded the Muadh-dhin (caller to prayer) to make the call to prayer, then he established the prayer and prayed Asr, nullifying the previous one. Then he prayed Maghrib. This narration has been narrated from Jaabir ibn Abdullah, from the Prophet, ﷺ , that he prayed Asr and then prayed Maghrib after it. It is also narrated from Ali, from the Prophet, ﷺ , that he prayed between Maghrib and Isha (evening) prayer, between the setting of the sun and the time of Isha. This is consistent with the narration of Jaabir, and Allah knows best.
