bayhaqi:2928Sufyān > al-ʿAlāʾ b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman from his father > Abū Hurayrah > Rasūl Allāh

[Machine] "Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'Every prayer in which Al-Fatiha is not recited is incomplete.' I said, 'O Abu Hurairah, I hear the Imam reciting it.' He said, 'O Persian, or O son of a Persian, recite it silently within yourself.' Abu Saeed Al-Isfahani informed us, who was informed by Abu Bahar Al-Barbahari, who narrated from Bashr bin Musa, who narrated from Al-Humaidi. And we have narrated the recitation behind the Imam from a group of companions, including the Commander of the Faithful, Umar ibn Khattab."  

البيهقي:٢٩٢٨عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ

اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ كُلُّ صَلَاةٍ لَا يُقْرَأُ فِيهَا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ فَهِيَ خِدَاجٌ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ إِنِّي أَسْمَعُ قِرَاءَةَ الْإِمَامِ فَقَالَ يَا فَارِسِيُّ أَوْ يَا ابْنَ الْفَارِسِيِّ اقْرَأْ بِهَا فِي نَفْسِكَ أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْإِسْفَرَايِينِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو بَحْرٍ الْبَرْبَهَارِيُّ ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ فَذَكَرَهُ وَقَدْ رُوِّينَا الْقِرَاءَةَ خَلْفَ الْإِمَامِ عَنْ جِمَاعَةٍ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ ؓ وَمِنْهُمْ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ
