[Machine] To Ibn Umar, "O Abu Abdullah, do you recite in every prayer?" He replied, "Indeed, I feel shy before my Lord in this prayer structure to bow for two units of prayer without reciting in them a portion from the mother of the Quran, as an addition or elevation." Yaqub said, "And Amr ibn Asim narrated to us, who narrated from Sulaiman ibn al-Mughirah, who narrated from Sa'id al-Jurayri, who narrated from Abu al-Azhar, similar to that, as if he used to see the recitation behind the imam while the imam was reciting it secretly. Malik ibn Anas approved of this narration, although it has been narrated from him differently."  

البيهقي:٢٩٠٢وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ثنا ابْنُ عُثْمَانَ أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ أنبأ كَهْمَسٌ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَزْهَرِ الضُّبَعِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ الْبَرَّاءِ فَذَكَرَ قِصَّةً وَفِيهَا أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ صَفْوَانَ قَالَ

لِابْنِ عُمَرَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ أَفِي كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ تَقْرَأُ؟ قَالَ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَحْيِي مِنْ رَبِّ هَذِهِ الْبِنْيَةِ أَنْ أَرْكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ لَا أَقْرَأُ فِيهِمَا بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ فَزَائِدًا أَوْ قَالَ فَصَاعِدًا قَالَ يَعْقُوبُ وَحَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ثنا سَعِيدٌ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْأَزْهَرِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ الْبَرَّاءِ نَحْوَهُ فَكَأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَرَى الْقِرَاءَةَ خَلْفَ الْإِمَامِ فِيمَا يُسِرُّ الْإِمَامُ فِيهِ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ وَعَلَى ذَلِكَ وَضَعَهُ مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْهُ بِخِلَافِهِ
