It is possible that the opinion of Jabir in that matter is to leave behind the recitation behind the imam in what he recites out loud, without what he recites silently. Yazid al-Faqir narrated from Jabir that he said, "We used to recite aloud in Dhuhr and Asr prayers behind the imam in the first two units with the opening chapter of the book and a chapter, and in the last two units with the opening chapter of the book." It is also possible that it is the opinion of Ibn Mas'ud.
