[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to recite aloud in prayer "Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim" (In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful), but people stopped doing that. This is what As-Sarraj reported from Uqbah, from Yunus, from Misaar, from Ibn Qais. Hasan ibn Sufyan also narrated it from Uqbah, from Mukramah bin Muhasshir, from Abu Ma'shar, from Muhammad bin Qais bin Makhrama, and this is the correct version.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَجْهَرُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ بِبِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ فَتَرَكَ النَّاسُ ذَلِكَ كَذَا قَالَهُ السَّرَّاجُ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ قَيْسٍ وَرَوَاهُ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ مُكْرَمٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ وَهُوَ الصَّوَابُ
