[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to pray on his mount facing the direction of the east. When he wanted to pray the obligatory prayers, he would get down from the mount and face the Qibla (the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca) and pray. This is mentioned in a narration by Muslim and in another narration by Mu'adh who said: "Jabir ibn Abdullah narrated to me and said: 'it was towards the east.'"
النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ قِبَلَ الْمَشْرِقِ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ نَزَلَ وَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ وَصَلَّى لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ مُسْلِمٍ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ وَقَالَ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ
