[Machine] "I ask you for its goodness and the goodness of its people, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of its people." Then he continued walking until he reached the stairs of the mosque and he heard a man taking an oath by a chapter of the Qur'an. So he said, "O Hanzala, do you think that this will expiate his oath? Indeed, every verse is an expiation, or he said, every oath is an expiation."  

البيهقي:١٩٩٠٢وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نَصْرٍ أنبأ أَبُو مَنْصُورٍ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْهُذَيْلِ عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ خُوَيْلِدٍ الْعَنْبَرِيِّ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ حَتَّى أَتَى السُّدَّةَ سُدَّةً بِالسُّوقِ فَاسْتَقْبَلَهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ

إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهَا وَخَيْرِ أَهْلِهَا وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ أَهْلِهَا ثُمَّ مَشَى حَتَّى أَتَى دَرَجَ الْمَسْجِدِ فَسَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَحْلِفُ بِسُورَةٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ فَقَالَ يَا حَنْظَلَةُ أَتَرَى هَذَا يُكَفِّرُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ إِنَّ كُلَّ آيَةٍ كَفَّارَةٌ أَوْ قَالَ يَمِينٌ وَكَذَلِكَ
