[Machine] That Tariq ibn Suwayd or Suwayd ibn Tariq, a man from the Jufi tribe, asked the Prophet ﷺ about alcohol and he forbade its production. He said that it is medicine. The Prophet ﷺ said that it is not medicine, but a disease.  

البيهقي:١٩٦٧٦أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ طَارِقَ بْنَ سُوَيْدٍ أَوْ سُوَيْدَ بْنَ طَارِقٍ رَجُلًا مِنْ جُعْفِيٍّ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ فَنَهَى عَنْ صَنْعَتِهَا فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا دَوَاءٌ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ بِدَوَاءٍ وَلَكِنَّهَا دَاءٌ  

أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ غُنْدَرٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ وَقَالَ إِنَّ طَارِقَ بْنَ سُوَيْدٍ سَأَلَ
