[Machine] I asked Ibn Thawbān, “Is the iqāmah required for women?” He told me that his father had related to him, saying: “I asked Makhūl, and he said: ‘If they give the adhān and then say the iqāmah, that is better; and if they do not do more than the iqāmah, it suffices for them.’”
Ibn Thawbān said: “And if they do not say the iqāmah, then al-Zuhrī related from ʿUrwah from ʿĀʾishah that she said: ‘We used to pray without an iqāmah.’ And if this is authentic along with the first report, then there is no contradiction between them, because it is permissible to do it at one time and leave it at another, since both matters are permissible altogether. And God knows best.”
And it is mentioned from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh that it was said to him, “Does a woman say the iqāmah?” He said, “Yes.”
