[Machine] The animal is slaughtered with something that has no limit, so it does not drain blood and does not flow. Abu 'Ubayd said, "And the saying of 'They split it open' means what tears it apart and causes the blood to flow from it." Abu 'Ubayd said, "And some people misinterpreted this hadith as meaning that it applies to all food, and this is incorrect. If it meant all food, it would apply to the knife, because the knife is what causes the splitting. Rather, the meaning of the hadith is that everything that causes the splitting of veins from wood or stone after it has been soaked in water, is sharp."  

البيهقي:١٩١٥١وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْكَارِزِيُّ أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ ثنا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الذَّبِيحَةِ بِالْعُودِ فَقَالَ كُلُّ مَا أَفْرَى الْأَوْدَاجَ غَيْرَ مُثَرِّدٍ قَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ أَبُو زِيَادٍ الْكِلَابِيُّ التَّثْرِيدُ أَنْ

تُذْبَحَ الذَّبِيحَةُ بِشَيْءٍ لَا حَدَّ لَهُ فَلَا يُنْهِرَ الدَّمَ وَلَا يُسِيلُهُ قَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ وَقَوْلُهُ مَا أَفْرَى الْأَوْدَاجَ يَعْنِي مَا شَقَّقَهَا وَأَسَالَ مِنْهَا الدَّمَ قَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ وَقَدْ تَأَوَّلَ بَعْضُ النَّاسِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ أَنَّ قَوْلَهُ كُلْ مِنَ الْأَكْلِ وَهَذَا خَطَأٌ وَلَوْ أَرَادَ مِنَ الْأَكْلِ لَوَقَعَ الْمَعْنَى عَلَى الشَّفْرَةِ؛ لِأَنَّ الشَّفْرَةَ هِيَ الَّتِي تُفْرِي وَإِنَّمَا مَعْنَى الْحَدِيثِ أَنَّ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَفْرَى الْأَوْدَاجَ مِنْ عُودٍ أَوْ حَجَرٍ بَعْدَ أَنْ يُفْرِيَهَا فَهُوَ ذَكِيٌّ
