[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said: "Al-i'aafah (abstinence), at-tarq (staying away), and at-tayyarah (superstitious beliefs associated with birds) are from al-jibt (superstitions)."

Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Ja'far al-Qutai'i narrated, Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Hanbal narrated, my father narrated to me, Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated, Awf mentioned it in a similar way, saying: "Al-i'aafah is the sound that birds make when they are scared, at-tarq refers to when a person traces lines on the ground, and al-jibt is attributed to Shaytan (the devil)."
