[Machine] That divorce is for men and the waiting period is for women. We have narrated the hadith of Ikrimah once from Ibn Abbas and once from the Prophet ﷺ as mutawatir (an overwhelmingly transmitted) that divorce only occurs when the man utters it with the intention of divorce, and Allah knows best.  

البيهقي:١٥١٧٩أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْمِهْرَجَانِيُّ أنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ نا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ نا مَالِكٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ الطَّلَاقُ لِلرِّجَالِ وَالْعِدَّةُ لِلنِّسَاءِ وَقَدْ رَوَيْنَا حَدِيثَ عِكْرِمَةَ مَرَّةً عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَمَرَّةً عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مُرْسَلًا إِنَّمَا الطَّلَاقُ لِمَنْ أَخَذَ بِالسَّاقِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ
