[Machine] To Ibn Abbas, fetch from your knowledge, was the divorce of three [times] not only one [divorce], during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Abu Bakr? He said, that indeed was the case. But when it was the time of Umar, people continued to divorce [multiple times], so he enforced it upon them.
لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ هَاتِ مِنْ هَنَاتِكَ أَلَمْ يَكُنْ طَلَاقُ الثَّلَاثِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ ؓ وَاحِدَةً؟ قَالَ قَدْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي عَهْدِ عُمَرَ ؓ تَتَابَعَ النَّاسُ فِي الطَّلَاقِ فَأَمْضَاهُ عَلَيْهِمْ
