[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The poor person is not the one who goes around asking people for a bite or two, or a date or two, but the poor person is the one who does not have enough and is not noticed, so that he may be given charity, and he does not ask people for anything." This is the narration of Al-Mughira, and it is also narrated by Malik. And he does not stand up to ask people.

malik:49-7Mālik > Abū al-Zinād > al-Aʿraj > Abū Hurayrah

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'z-Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The very poor are not the people who constantly walk from person to person and are given one or two morsels, and one or two dates." They said, "Who are the very poor, Messenger of Allah?" He said, "People who do not find enough for themselves and other people are not aware of them to give sadaqa to them, and they do not start begging from other people."
