[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Khaybar with a necklace that had beads hanging from it made of gold. A man had bought it for seven or nine dinars. The Prophet ﷺ said, "No, until a distinction is made between him and it." He said, "I only intended the stones." He said, "No, until a distinction is made between them." So he returned it until a distinction was made between them.

البيهقي:١٠٥٥٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ بِنَيْسَابُورَ وَأَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ بُرْهَانَ الْغَزَّالُ وَأَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْقَطَّانُ وَغَيْرُهُمْ بِبَغْدَادَ قَالُوا أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ عَنْ حَنَشٍ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ

أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَامَ خَيْبَرَ بِقِلَادَةٍ فِيهَا خَرَزٌ مُعَلَّقَةٌ بِذَهَبٍ ابْتَاعَهَا رَجُلٌ بِسَبْعَةِ دَنَانِيرَ أَوْ بِتِسْعةٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا حَتَّى يُمَيَّزَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهَا قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَرَدْتُ الْحِجَارَةَ قَالَ لَا حَتَّى يُمَيَّزَ بَيْنَهُمَا قَالَ فَرَدَّهُ حَتَّى مُيِّزَ بَيْنَهُمَا

رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَغَيْرِهِ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ وَرِوَايَةُ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ تُوَافِقُ مَا مَضَى مِنَ الرِّوَايَتَيْنِ فِي الْحُكْمِ وَإِنْ كَانَ بَعْضُ هَذِهِ الرِّوَايَاتِ تَزِيدُ عَلَى بَعْضٍ وَرَوَاهُ اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ فَخَالَفَ ابْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ فِي مَتْنِهِ

The Prophet ﷺ was brought a necklace in which there were gold and pearls. (The narrators AbuBakr and (Ahmad) Ibn Mani' said: The pearls were set with gold in it, and a man bought it for nine or seven dinars.) The Prophet ﷺ said: (It must not be sold) till the contents are considered separately. The narrator said: He returned it till the contents were considered separately. The narrator Ibn Asa said: By this I intended trade. Abu Dawud said: The word hijarah (stone) was recorded in his note-book before, but he changed it and narrated tijarah (trade).
