[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The Hour will not come until my Ummah takes the same path as the nations before it, step by step, hand-span by hand-span." A man asked: "O Messenger of Allah, just as the Persians and the Romans did?" He replied: "Who else besides them?"  

أحمد:٨٤٣٣ – حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَأْخُذَ أُمَّتِي أَخْذَ الْأُمَمِ قَبْلَهَا شِبْرًا بِشِبْرٍ وَذِرَاعًا بِذِرَاعٍ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَمَا فَعَلَتْ فَارِسُ وَالرُّومُ قَالَ وَمَا النَّاسُ إِلَّا أُولَئِكَ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The Hour will not be established till my followers copy the deeds of the previous nations and follow them very closely, span by span, and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch)." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Do you mean by those (nations) the Persians and the Byzantines?" The Prophet said, "Who can it be other than they?"  

البخاري:٧٣١٩ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ

أحمد:٨٨٠٥ – حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

"لاَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَأخُذَ أُمَّتِى أخْذَ القُرُونِ قَبْلَهَا شَبْرًا بِشِبْرٍ وذِرَاعًا بِذِرَاعٍ، قِيلَ: يَا رسُولَ الله: كَفَارِس والرُّومِ؟ قال: ومَنِ النَّاسُ إلا أُولَئكَ؟ ".
