ahmad:5486 – Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > Thābit Saʾalt Ibn ʿUmar

[Machine] Did the Prophet ﷺ forbid the drinking of wine? He said, "They claim that I forbade it." So I said, "Did you hear it from him?" He replied, "They claim that I did." So Allah turned him away from me. Whenever someone said to him, "Did you hear it?" He would get angry and argue with them.  

أحمد:٥٤٨٦ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ

عَنْ نَبِيذ الْجَرِّ أَهَلْ نَهَى عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ زَعَمُوا ذَلِكَ فَقُلْتُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ نَهَى فَقَالَ قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَلِكَ فَقُلْتُ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَلِكَ فَصَرَفَهُ اللهُ عَنِّي وَكَانَ إِذَا قِيلَ لِأَحَدِهِمْ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ غَضِبَ وَهَمَّ يُخَاصِمُهُ

[Machine] About the wine jar, he said: "They have claimed that. So I said, who claimed that the Prophet ﷺ said this?" He replied: "They have claimed that." I said, "O Abu Abdullah, did you hear it from the Prophet ﷺ?" He said: "They have claimed that." I said: "So Allah Almighty turned away from me that day. And whenever one of them was asked, 'Did you hear it from the Prophet ﷺ?' he would become angry and then divert the subject to his companion."  

أحمد:٥٠٧٤ – قَالَ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ فَقُلْتُ أَنُهِيَ

عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ فَقَالَ قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ فَقُلْتُ مَنْ زَعَمَ ذَاكَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ؟ قَالَ قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ؟ قَالَ قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ قَالَ فَصَرَفَهُ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَنِّي يَوْمَئِذٍ وَكَانَ أَحَدُهُمْ إِذَا سُئِلَ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ غَضِبَ ثُمَّ هَمَّ بِصَاحِبِهِ
