[Machine] I was in a secret mission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and the people suspected and I was also suspicious. We asked ourselves, "What shall we do?" We were running away, filled with anger. Then we said, "If we enter the city, we will settle down." Then we said, "If we present ourselves to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and if he accepts our repentance, then we will stay; otherwise, we will leave." So we came to him before the morning prayer. He came out and asked, "Who are you people?" We said, "We are the ones who fled." He replied, "No, you are the ones who have returned. I am your leader, and I am the leader of the Muslims." Then we approached him until we kissed his hand.
كُنْتُ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ مِنْ سَرَايَا رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَحَاصَ النَّاسُ حَيْصَةً وَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ حَاصَ فَقُلْنَا كَيْفَ نَصْنَعُ؟ وَقَدْ فَرَرْنَا مِنَ الزَّحْفِ وَبُؤْنَا بِالْغَضَبِ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لَوْ دَخَلْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ فَبِتْنَا ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لَوْ عَرَضْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ تَوْبَةٌ وَإِلَّا ذَهَبْنَا فَأَتَيْنَاهُ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ فَخَرَجَ فَقَالَ مَنِ الْقَوْمُ؟ قَالَ فَقُلْنَا نَحْنُ الْفَرَّارُونَ قَالَ لَا بَلْ أَنْتُمُ الْعَكَّارُونَ أَنَا فِئَتُكُمْ وَأَنَا فِئَةُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ قَالَ فَأَتَيْنَاهُ حَتَّى قَبَّلْنَا يَدَهُ
