It was the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, i.e., tamattuʿ (in Hajj), but I am afraid that they will have intimate relations with them (their wives) beneath the Arak trees, then they will bring them for Hajj.  

أحمد:٣٤٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي هُشَيْمٌ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَىأَنَّ عُمَرَ قَالَ

هِيَ سُنَّةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَعْنِي الْمُتْعَةَ وَلَكِنِّي أَخْشَى أَنْ يُعَرِّسُوا بِهِنَّ تَحْتَ الْأَرَاكِ ثُمَّ يَرُوحُوا بِهِنَّ حُجَّاجًا
