[Machine] He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and greeted him. He asked, "Where do you want to go?" He said, "O Messenger of Allah, I want to go here," and he pointed with his hand towards Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa. He asked, "What will take you there? Are you going for trade?" He said, "No, I only want to pray there." He said, "Prayer here," and he pointed with his hand towards Makkah, "is better than a thousand prayers," and he pointed with his hand towards Ash-Sham (Syria).  

أحمد:٢٤٠٠٩/1 حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْعَطَّافُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ الْأَرْقَمِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْأَرْقَمِ

أَنَّهُ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ أَيْنَ تُرِيدُ؟ قَالَ أَرَدْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَاهُنَا وَأَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى حَيْثُ بَيْتُ الْمَقْدِسِ قَالَ مَا يُخْرِجُكَ إِلَيْهِ أَتِجَارَةٌ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَا وَلَكِنْ أَرَدْتُ الصَّلَاةَ فِيهِ قَالَ فَالصَّلَاةُ هَاهُنَا وَأَوْمَأَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ بِيَدِهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ وَأَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الشَّامِ
