[Machine] Al-Qurathi reported that Abu Qatadah had a debt from a man who used to come to him to collect it. Abu Qatadah would hide from him. One day, a young boy came out, and the man asked him about Abu Qatadah. The boy replied, "Yes, he is in the house eating pork." The man then called out to him, saying, "O so-and-so, come out, for I have been informed that you are here." Abu Qatadah went out to him, and the man asked, "What keeps you away from me?" Abu Qatadah replied, "I am in debt and have nothing to give you." The man said, "By Allah, are you in debt?" Abu Qatadah answered, "Yes." Abu Qatadah then cried and said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever relieves his debtor, or reduces his debt for him, will be in the shade of the Throne on the Day of Resurrection.'"
