[Machine] It is reported that when the Prophet ﷺ used to ask for something, he would raise the inside of his palms towards the person he was requesting from. And when seeking refuge or protection, he would raise the back of his hands in the same direction.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا سَأَلَ جَعَلَ بَاطِنَ كَفَّيْهِ إِلَيْهِ وَإِذَا اسْتَعَاذَ جَعَلَ ظَاهِرَهُمَا إِلَيْهِ
