[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ never used to engage in warfare during the sacred month unless he was attacked or someone attacked him. When he was confronted with such a situation, he would remain steadfast until the aggressors withdrew.  

أحمد:١٤٧١٣حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

لَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَغْزُو فِي الشَّهْرِ الْحَرَامِ إِلَّا أَنْ يُغْزَى أَوْ يُغْزَوْا فَإِذَا حَضَرَهُ أَقَامَ حَتَّى يَنْسَلِخَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not engage in fighting during the sacred month, unless he was attacked or there was an attack against him. And when such situation occurred, he would stand ground until the enemy retreated.
