[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to meet a man and ask him, "O so-and-so, how are you?" The man would reply, "I am well, praise be to Allah." The Prophet ﷺ would then say to him, "May Allah keep you well." One day, the Prophet ﷺ met the man and asked him, "How are you, O so-and-so?" The man replied, "I am well, if I am grateful." The Prophet ﷺ remained silent, so the man said, "O Prophet of Allah, you used to ask me and say, 'May Allah keep you well,' but today you have remained silent." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "I used to ask you and say, 'May Allah keep you well,' but today you said, 'I am well, if I am grateful,' so I remained silent."
