Umar bin al-Khattab ؓ told me: he heard the Prophet ﷺ ʿA rider will travel through the streets of Madinah, then he will say: There used to be many believers here.ʿ  

أحمد:١٢٤حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَأَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَيَسِيرَنَّ الرَّاكِبُ فِي جَنَبَاتِ الْمَدِينَةِ ثُمَّ لَيَقُولُ لَقَدْ كَانَ فِي هَذَا حَاضِرٌ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ كَثِيرٌ قَالَ أَبِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ وَلَمْ يَجُزْ بِهِ حَسَنٌ الْأَشْيَبُ جَابِرًا
