[Machine] The Messenger ﷺ placed his fingers on the ground and said, "This is the son of Adam." Then he raised them and placed them behind that a little and said, "This is his lifespan." Then he threw his hand in front of him and said, "And this is his hope."  

أحمد:١٢٢٣٨حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ ﷺ جَمَعَ أَصَابِعَهُ فَوَضَعَهَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ فَقَالَ هَذَا ابْنُ آدَمَ ثُمَّ رَفَعَهَا فَوَضَعَهَا خَلْفَ ذَلِكَ قَلِيلًا وَقَالَ هَذَا أَجَلُهُ ثُمَّ رَمَى بِيَدِهِ أَمَامَهُ قَالَ وَثَمَّ أَمَلُهُ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered his fingers and clasped them together on the ground and said, "This is the son of Adam." Then he said, holding his hand behind that, "And this is his lifespan." He then pointed with his finger in front of him and said, "And this is his appointed time." Finally, he moved his finger back and forth three times.
